Yoga pose outside in a park.

About Me

I’m Karen Vielle. I'm a long-time yoga teacher, a mindfulness coach, and burgeoning writer. This website combines mindfulness in all it's forms under one umbrella of Mindful Living. My intention is to provide you with the tools to develop more gratitude, mindfulness, and simplicity in your everyday life.

After ending a 23-year career in public education, I started KVL Mindful Living Solutions LLC in 2017 as a part-time professional home organizing business to supplement my yoga teaching income.  As a School Psychologist, I was required to have a high degree of organizational and time management skills, as well as work on teams with others. These skills, with the courses I took through the National Association for Productivity and Organization (NAPO), transferred well into the world of home organizing.

Then the COVID 19 shutdown hit and I was unable to work in people's homes. In February 2022, I completed a Mindfulness Coaching certification program and shifted from traditional organizing and productivity coaching to a more holistic approach to making space and creating capacity for living. In all endeavors, I am influenced by my background in yoga and Buddhism, and a lifelong love of walking and hiking in nature. When I'm not working, my husband, Paul, and I love to travel and spend time with our dog Finn.

More About My Yoga Background

I started practicing yoga in 1996 to ease the stresses of work and everyday life. I soon added a daily meditation practice and discovered these practices were healing to both body and mind. I wanted to share this gift with others, so in 2001 I took a yoga teacher training course and began teaching part-time. Since then, I have become a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) and (YACEP) through the Yoga Alliance. Over the years I have taught at a number of yoga studios in the Spokane area and have also taught private students and groups. Although my formal training is in the Ashtanga Vinyasa method, I draw from a wide range of styles to meet the varied needs of my students.

I enjoy learning and expanding my ability to help you get the most out of mind/body experiences. So, in 2022, I earned my Group Fitness Instructor certification, and in 2023 a Functional Movement Specialist certification. I enjoy the opportunity to teach other types of physical activity to balance out the yoga. I work primarily with older adults and I love making movement fun and functional for them. In 2022, I also completed a Mindfulness Coaching certification program and am excited to add mindfulness workshops and retreats to my offerings.
